WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 13, 2011) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) today applauded House Resources Committee passage of three bills that would expedite development of domestic oil and natural gas resources.
“We applaud the committee for taking action to expedite offshore domestic energy development,” said Cal Dooley, President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council. “American manufacturing needs reliable access to domestic energy in order to keep supplying materials critical to health, safety, technology, productivity and energy efficiency. A timely and efficient permitting process is critical.
“Today’s activity is an important step in the development of a comprehensive energy policy. Congress needs to move forward on an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy that promotes energy efficiency and conservation, energy diversity, and expanded domestic oil and natural gas supply, onshore and offshore.”
