WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 14, 2011) – The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Executive Committee today approved the membership of two companies and the status of one Responsible Care® Partner company.
“Companies join ACC because they see first-hand the value that we deliver. Through our first-class advocacy, our 2010 results saved the industry nearly $10 billion,” said Cal Dooley, President and CEO of ACC. “ACC offers the regulatory, political, technical and issues management expertise that companies rely on to operate and grow in today’s challenging business climate,” he added.
ACC members represent more than 85 percent of the chemical manufacturing capacity in the United States.
The companies approved today expand the diversity of ACC’s membership, representing products ranging from food processing aids to paint and coating additives and specialty solvents.
The new members are:
- BHS Specialty Chemical Products of Nampa, ID
- FutureFuel Chemical Company, a subsidiary of FutureFuel Corporation, of Clayton, MO
The new Responsible Care Partner Company is OHL—Dedicated Contract Logistics of Crystal Lake, IL.
Responsible Care Partner Companies are involved in distribution, transportation, storage, use, treatment, disposal or sales and marketing of chemicals. Partner companies adhere to the same Responsible Care requirements as ACC members and have made a commitment to uphold the Responsible Care program elements.
With today’s additions, ACC now comprises 156 member companies, including associate and affiliate members.
