Extension # 3: Can You Find Them All?
Procedure:
Locate plastic containers at home, school, supermarket or other stores.
Look for the recycle code and the number in the triangle. There are seven
numbers on plastic containers. (The seventh type indicates “mixed
or layered” resins that are not generally recycled.) Can you find
a product that fits each of the seven categories? Fill in the chart below
with the information on the container and from your observations. A picture
of a recycle code looks like this:
