Extended Activities Across the Community

Create A Helmet: Students to create papier-mâché helmet paint and decorate for display. Students should also create a narrative description of the helmet as well as its’ safety feature. Create murals for display.

SAFE KIDS Presentation: Students to team up with their local SAFE KIDS Coalition to inquire about making a presentation to other school age children regarding the value of wearing a helmet during sporting events/activities.

Helmet Museum: Procure a Helmet Museum for school and community presentation. The museum might feature a variety of occupational and sport helmets. Also include helmets that have been damaged to show how they protected the individual who was wearing the helmet.

Helmet Sale: Team up with the local SAFE KIDS Coalition to host a Bike Helmet Sale where students and community can purchase helmets at a nominal cost and are fitted correctly.

Community Bike Rides: Contact local community ride organizations and volunteer to present student activities and assist with event.
