Use Your Head

Standard*: C.4.1-Orally communicate information, opinions, and ideas effectively to different audiences for a variety of purposes.

Objective: Students will present what they have learned in a creative, oral, visual, and educational performance for staff, students, parents, community members, and Safe Kids Coalition.

Materials: All materials/activities used in this unit as well art supplies, musical instruments, various helmets, and parent volunteers

Activity: Throughout the unit the children will be working on various means of presenting what we have learned about plastic, head/brain injuries, and career/leisure activities t that require helmets. Final performance(s) should include poetry, art work, music/rap, dialogue, etc. about what they have learned.

Assessment: Students will accurately reflect what they have learned in their performance. Hopefully an increased awareness will develop among the participants as well as the audience members as a result of our production and injuries/deaths will be prevented.
