Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
As Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Mr. Perelman manages ACC’s Office of General Counsel, serves as the Chief Legal Officer for ACC and its Board of Directors, and manages Board and Executive Committee operations. He also oversees ACC’s membership and business development programs and ACC’s Responsible Care® performance initiative. Additionally, he provides strategic direction and coordination for major ACC public policy issues and initiatives.
Mr. Perelman provided senior leadership for ACC’s 2002-2003 strategic review and modernization of Responsible Care® and previously led ACC’s advocacy initiative to reform the federal Superfund law. Prior to joining ACC, he served as Legislative Counsel for the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute during which he negotiated and co-led a campaign to enact into law the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act—establishing the first national energy efficiency standards for building systems and home appliances. He also served as Counsel with the U.S. EPA Office of Enforcement.
Mr. Perelman received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, his juris doctor degree from Creighton University, and a Master of Laws law degree in Environmental and Energy law from George Washington University.
