ACC Urges Senate Support for Bipartisan Chemical Facilities Security Legislation

ARLINGTON, VA (July 27, 2010) – This week, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee are expected to address chemical security. ACC is on record in support of the bipartisan S.2996, the “Continuing Chemical Antiterrorism Security Act of 2010,” introduced by Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Mark Pryor (D-AR), George Voinovich (R-OH) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

“Passage of this bill ensures that our country will continue to benefit from rigorous chemical security regulations that are already in place.  These regulations address the need to protect chemical facilities while preserving their ability to provide products and jobs.
