CPI (formerly API) Partners with UTECH for This Year's Global Polyurethane Event

(Arlington, VA – February 26, 2007) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council, formerly known as the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry, will partner with UTECH this year for the global polyurethanes exhibition and conference. The event will take place on Sept. 24-26 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., and will combine the resources of the Polyurethanes Technical Conference, organized by CPI, and the UTECH North America exhibition, organized by Netherland based Industrial Promotions International (I.P.I.) and joint organizer Crain Communications.

The joint event with UTECH will mark the 50th technical conference organized by CPI and the 20th anniversary of the UTECH conferences, which began in Europe. This will be UTECH’s first exhibition in North America.

“This partnership is an opportunity to leverage the strengths of two global trade shows into one marquee event,” said Neeva-Gayle Candelori of CPI. “The polyurethanes industry has continued to become increasingly global, with companies making major investments in all regions of the world. By establishing a single trade show for this global industry, we’re clearly providing additional value for exhibitors and attendees, as well as celebrating a milestone in the Polyurethanes industry.”

"Since the very first UTECH in 1986 organized with Crain Communications we have seen the event take on a global role,” says Tony Kenter of I.P.I. “It has expanded to encompass Europe, the Asia Pacific region and now the USA making UTECH a truly international exhibition, with each regional show taking place on a three year cycle.”

Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council promotes the sustainable growth of the polyurethane industry, consistent with the principles of Responsible Care®, by identifying and managing issues that could impact the industry, in cooperation with user groups. Its members are U.S. producers or distributors of chemicals and equipment used to make polyurethane or are manufacturers of polyurethane products.
