The Solvents Industry Group works to ensure that organic solvents, specifically oxygenated and hydrocarbon solvents, continue to be recognized as important components of a wide range of products that improve our daily lives and also help make our lives safer and healthier, while meeting the challenges of today’s environmentally conscious world. Group members seek to improve safety, health, and environmental performance of their products and to provide information on safe handling and use on an ongoing basis.
Safe handling and use are important to the Solvents Industry Group. Four key areas of health and safety management important to the Solvents Industry Group are:
- Using solvents safely through product stewardship
- Health and safety hazard information to support safe use
- Safe exposure limits to prevent health impacts from overexposure
- Safe management of flammable products
