ARLINGTON, Va. – October 27, 2009 – For the 6th year running, October marks the time when national attention is given to encourage home users, schools, businesses and governments to protect their computers, children and data. National Cyber Security Awareness Month is a national public awareness campaign led by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and supported by President Barrack Obama. Its goal – increase awareness of cyber security issues and encourage the implementation of security measures to protect computers.
ChemITC members have proven time and again that many in the chemical industry understand that cyber security needs to be a focus every minute of every day. However, National Cyber Security Awareness Month presents an excellent opportunity to step back, examine your company's cyber security landscape and remind enterprise users about the importance of vigilant practices and behaviors while working and playing with computers and the Internet.
As a proud supporter of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Cyber Security Program is pleased to share information and links to a variety of resources that have been created to help members of the global chemical sector enhance their cyber security performance.
