Purpose:
This work group has been a staple of the Cyber Security Program since its inception in 2002. Acting as the “voice of the program” in matters related to the definition, development and application of cyber security technologies and methods to industrial automation and control systems, the group provides a forum for the chemical industry’s industrial automation and control systems security experts to collect, identify and facilitate the use of practices for securing industrial automation and control systems. This team also contributes expertise to various projects in the Cyber Security Program, with specific focus on the identification of and advocacy for features and technologies that improve the state of security in industrial automation and control systems. Additionally, it represents chemical sector interests in outside organizations' development of industry practices and standards for industrial automation and control systems security, including the ISA-99 committee, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Control Systems Security Program, NIST Process Control Systems Requirements Forum, Idaho National Laboratory’s Control Systems Security Center and others.
