Purpose:

Recognizing the global nature of the chemical industry, this work group brings together European IT and manufacturing control systems security professionals to understand and address regional cyber security needs. The group focuses on providing networking opportunities on cyber security topics of specific interest to the European community and improving awareness from a security perspective of regulatory and compliance issues in the European region. The group is working on a global data privacy guidance document which expands upon the Data Privacy in the European Union guidance released in 2008. Additionally, the group shares its global perspectives with other Cyber Security Work Groups in an effort to help cyber security professionals from global chemical companies navigate the various regional and country-specific regulations that exist today and better understand their impact on cyber security in the global chemical industry.
