Chemical Industry SAP Users Group Joins Americas’ SAP Users’ Group
The Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG), the world’s largest customer-run community of SAP professionals, announced today that the Chemical Industry SAP Users Group (CISUG) will become part of ASUG, effective January 1, 2008. CISUG will begin operating as one of ASUG’s Industry Special Interest Group (SIG) Communities, adding to ASUG’s current list of more than 75 process, technology and industry-focused communities.

Overview of Information Sharing Tools Now Available
The Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program is pleased to announce the release of a new guidance document outlining a number of cost-effective information sharing tools chemical companies can use to bolster their existing security programs. Regularly accessing information sharing tools including those described in the guidance document can help companies obtain important information that enables them to proactively develop risk mitigation strategies, protect against potential threats and make better security-related decisions.

Guidance for Sharing Information with DHS Now Available
The Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program is pleased to announce the release of a new guidance document outlining the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII) Program. The document is a first step in helping chemical companies develop practices and obtain information so that they can share information with DHS in a secure manner.

ACC Member Companies Invited to Participate in DHS-Sponsored Security Outreach Project
Through their adherence to the Responsible Care® Security Code and participation in voluntary programs like ChemITC’s Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program, American Chemistry Council (ACC) members have consistently demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the security of the chemical sector’s sites, plants and computer systems. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently initiated a voluntary project to collectively measure the level of realistic cyber security vulnerability in the chemical sector's process control systems.

Chemical Sector Releases Updated Cyber Security Strategy
The Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program today unveiled the 2006 edition of the Chemical Sector Cyber Security Strategy at the 2nd Chemical Information Technology Council (ChemITC) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. ChemITC is a CHEMSTAR® Panel of the American Chemistry Council. The updated document outlines the sector’s plans to continue driving improvements to information technology (IT) and manufacturing system security through a sector-wide program. It builds on the chemical sector’s many achievements in enhancing cyber security since the original strategy published in 2002.
