High Interest Topic (HIT) Team Process

Purpose:

The High Interest Topic (HIT) team process is designed to generate highly-motivated, deliverable-driven teams focused on an emerging cyber security topic or issue within the chemical sector. An alternative to the Cyber Security Program’s ongoing work groups, the HIT team process provides a mechanism for members to quickly create teams based on a topic they are interested in exploring, identify key areas of focus and determine the appropriate outputs.

HIT Team Criteria:

  1. All HIT teams must have a minimum of three team members, with a team leader identified.
  2. At least one of the team members must be from a Charter member company.
  3. Each HIT team should have a narrow focus on a single topic.
  4. HIT teams will address issues and topics that do not fall into the scope of other work teams.
  5. Each HIT team should meet at least monthly to work toward their team objectives.
  6. The culmination of each HIT team should be the development of some type of deliverable about their focus area that will be shared with ChemITC® members and on the Cyber Security Program Web site.
  7. Team duration is flexible, but should not exceed one year.

Forming New HIT Teams:

ChemITC members interested in working with peers to explore an emerging cyber security topic are encouraged to submit their HIT team ideas for consideration today by completing the HIT Team Idea Submission form or contacting ChemITC Panel Manager Bridgette Bourge. All submissions will be vetted among the Cyber Security Program membership and submitted for approval by Cyber Security Program leadership, taking into account factors including the level of member interest, resource availability and overall ChemITC goals and objectives. New HIT teams will be formed around topics that generate enough member interest as outlined in the HIT Team criteria above.
