Information Sharing

Steering Team Sponsor: Christine Adams, The Dow Chemical Company

Work Group Co-Leads: Helen Myers, The Dow Chemical Company
Keith Lichtenwalner, Air Products and Chemicals

Purpose:

The Information Sharing Work Group was formed in the aftermath of Cyber Storm II to identify and carry out plans for improving information sharing processes and tools available to the chemical industry during cyber crisis. Specifically, the group is working to implement a cyber crisis communication process which will provide a communication mechanism for ChemITC and ACC members to use with the goal of improved cyber security situational awareness, response and recovery during a significant cyber security incident. The group is also working to document guidance on use of the Chemical IT Community compartment of US-CERT and coordinate sector participation in Cyber Storm III in September 2010, specifically to test the new cyber crisis communication process. Additionally, the Information Sharing Work Group is identifying, collecting and sharing available practices for the chemical industry to consider in aligning its information sharing processes with DHS directions and practices.
