The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) rule 6 CFR Part 27 authorizes DHS to collect information from chemical facilities on a broad range of topics related to the potential consequences of a terrorist attack. The Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) Site Security Plan (SSP) is one method DHS uses to gather such information.

Chemical Sector Cyber Security Program participants were invited to attend a DHS training webinar in July designed to help them as they begin their efforts to complete and submit their SSP. David McCullin and Matt Davey of the DHS Infrastructure Security Compliance Division presented Completing the DHS CSAT Site Security Plan Training, an educational webinar designed to help chemical industry cyber security experts fulfill the requirements outlined in the CFATS regulation. They provided information on the content and functionality of the CSAT SSP tool as well as important considerations to facilitate an accurate completion of the SSP.
