The Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewardship is a global organization of companies that manufacture C6 fluorotelomer-based products in North America, Europe, and or Japan. Our mission is to promote the responsible production, use, and management of fluorotelomers, while also advocating for a sound science and risk-based approach to regulation.

ATCS_LogoMember companies include:

  • Daikin America, Inc.
  • AGC, Inc.
  • JCI (Johnson Controls, Inc.)
  • Dynax Corporation

The members of the Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewardship are committed to protecting public health and our environment. All members were early adopters of the voluntary U.S. EPA 2010/2015 Stewardship Program, the goal of which was to eliminate PFOA from facility emissions and product content by 2015. The Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewardship is advocating to turn this successful voluntary governmental program into responsible global regulation.

Additionally, the Alliance for Telomer Chemistry Stewardship is committed to working with the entire value chain to adopt Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP) to protect public health and the environment.

For example, our members worked with the textile industry to develop BEP guidance that help mills and finishers understand how to minimize waste and environmental releases, while also keeping desirable fluorinated products in their textile products.

We have also worked with the Fire Fighting Foam Coalition on the best available practices for minimizing environmental exposures from the fluorinated chemistries used in aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), a fire fighting foam critical for extinguishing and preventing high hazard, Class B flammable liquid fires.

We continue to work to protect the public health and our environment.
