The Alkanolamines Panel was formed in 1982. Since its formation, the Panel has sponsored and published numerous toxicological studies and other voluntary research. Additionally, the panel conducts scientific regulatory advocacy.

Alkanolamines are building blocks used in gas purification, surfactants, detergents, cosmetics, textile processing, concrete/cement, metal working fluids and agricultural chemicals.
