CHEMTREC®: Conference Manager

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for developing, marketing and implementing profit-generating conferences, meetings and other similar events provided by CHEMTREC®. The position reports directly to Senior Director, Sales and Marketing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages all phases of designated events, including pre-conference planning, sales and marketing as well as event close-out.
  • Develops event project budgets and manages applicable expenditures for designated events.
  • Downloads, reviews and edits registration information within CHEMTREC’s Microsoft CRM event registration system.
  • Develops content and produces marketing materials for designated events, in consultation with CHEMTREC Marketing Team.
  • Collects presentation materials from scheduled speakers as well as manages the production and distribution of event content to meeting participants.
  • Provides on-site meetings management for designated events.
  • Develops and manages event related internet communications.
  • Participates and actively engages in CHEMTREC new business development teams.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with appropriate internal staff and external contacts, including ACC members, customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.
  • Five years marketing and event management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination and project and budget management.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to give internal and public presentations.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage high quality stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, tasks and information.
  • Ability to use appropriate independent judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
