WASHINGTON (Feb. 14, 2013) - Cal Dooley , President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), issued the following statement regarding Sen. Frank Lautenberg's (D-NJ) announcement that he will not seek re-election:

"For nearly three decades, the people of New Jersey have had an outstanding leader in Senator Frank Lautenberg. While we may not always agree with Senator Lautenberg on the details, we share his commitment to sound chemical regulation, and we respect the passion he has brought to the issue.

"As the Senator said, reforming the  Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) will remain among his top priorities over the next two years. We hope that in that time, we can work with him and other leaders in the Senate to forge bipartisan legislation that can become law, creating a lasting legacy for Senator Lautenberg."
