Award presented at annual Responsible Care® Conference & Expo

Miami (April 16, 2015) - Today, at the 2015 Responsible Care Conference & Expo, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) honored FMC Corporation with its 2015 Initiative of the Year Award, in recognition of the company's 'TH!NK. SAFE.' global safety program initiative.

Anchored by FMC's Safety Manifesto, which has been translated into 11 languages and featured at all company site locations, TH!NK. SAFE. engages employees and instills a sense of individual and collective safety responsibility throughout the company. TH!NK. SAFE. has been one of the key factors in decreasing FMC's total recordable injury rate, which decreased from 0.74 per 100 employees to 0.51 per 100 employees over the past three years.

Elements of the initiative include TH!NK. SAFE.'s "One Moment" videos, featuring true stories and lessons learned from FMC employees who faced safety issues on the road, at work and at home; "Unsafe Mindsets," an animated video series, employee contest and awareness initiative to draw attending to mindset's that may cloud employees' safety judgment; and a live-action video series modeled after the famous "Mac vs. PC" ads and hazard-specific awareness tips.

The Initiative of the Year is chosen by conference attendees, who have an opportunity to review submissions and talk to company representatives on-site at the conference.

In addition to celebrating Responsible Care companies and their achievements, the Responsible Care Conference & Expo provided a forum for more than 300 industry leaders to learn from their peers and other experts in the field about best practices to expand environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) performance initiatives.
