Ads focus on Shimkus's record on protecting jobs, improving the economy

WASHINGTON (Jan. 14, 2016) - The American Chemistry Council (ACC) will run advertisements highlighting Rep. John Shimkus's (R-IL-15) leadership on issues that help our economy and create good-paying jobs.

"Rep. Shimkus works hard for Illinois, and his honest, conservative leadership gets results in Congress," explained ACC President and CEO Cal Dooley . "He has been a champion of commonsense policies that improve our economy, including reducing regulatory burdens and removing unfair trade practices. And, his bipartisan leadership on policies that lower taxes, decrease the deficit and promote energy independence has been critical to America's manufacturing sector and small businesses in Illinois and across our nation."

"Illinois is the fifth largest chemistry-producing state ," continued Dooley. "Because of Illinois's impact on our industry and as representatives of one of the nation's largest manufacturing sectors , we want to acknowledge Rep. Shimkus's dedication and leadership on key issues that help our economy."

The ads for Rep. Shimkus will run for two weeks throughout the 15th District of Illinois and will encourage constituents to contact the office of the Congressman to tell him to keep up the good work.
