WASHINGTON (April 28, 2015) - The U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works today is marking up S. 697, the "Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act."

American Chemistry Council (ACC) President and CEO  Cal Dooley issued the following statement regarding the Committee's consideration of this important legislation:

"We appreciate the continued work of Senators Vitter and Udall to advance a bipartisan proposal that can garner the support necessary to become law and the engagement of Senators Booker, Merkley and Whitehouse to identify a workable path forward. ACC has always believed that compromise would be the key to successful TSCA reform , and the proposed manager's amendment reflects a carefully balanced approach that incorporates interests of several Democratic Senators and maintains important priorities for manufacturers. We look forward to continued progress at today's markup and in the weeks to come."
