WASHINGTON (November 18, 2014) - The American Chemistry Council (ACC) issued the following statement reiterating its support for  H.R. 4012, the "Secret Science Reform Act of 2014," in advance of this week's vote in the U.S. House of Representatives:

"High quality science and transparency must be at the core of federal regulations aimed to protect human health and the environment. This legislation will increase the utility and strengthen the foundation of EPA's rules by improving the disclosure of information underpinning the Agency's decisions. The bill will also help foster the kind of regulatory environment that allows our  members to continue to invest in the U.S. economy and develop transformational, innovative products.

"We believe that this legislation will lead to a better understanding of how EPA develops its regulations. We urge members to vote in favor of H.R. 4012 when it comes to the House floor."
