WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 2, 2011) - The following is a statement from Cal Dooley , President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council (ACC):

"President Obama's decision to ask EPA to withdraw its proposed ozone standard is a win for America's chemistry industry, for our nation's economy and for hard working men and women across the country. This decision will ensure that communities across the country that would have essentially been closed for business by the new standard have a fighting chance of attracting new factories, new construction projects and new energy production.

"We appreciate and commend the President's willingness to listen to the concerns of our industry and others and respond in a way that will protect jobs and economic growth while also allowing for continued improvements in America's air quality."
