ACC Commends Congress for Strong, Bipartisan Votes to Pass Free Trade Agreements

American Chemistry Council President and CEO Cal Dooley released the following statement today following passage last night in the U.S. House and Senate of free trade agreements with Columbia, South Korea and Panama. Dooley had previously written Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ma Baucus (D-MT), Ranking Member Orrin Hatch (R-UT), House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI), and Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) detailing ACCs endorsement of the pacts.

Plastic Bottle Recycling Hits Record High as Access Increases in United States

Plastic bottle recycling by consumers increased 123 million pounds in 2010 (up 5%) to reach a record high of nearly 2.6 billion pounds for the year, according to figures released jointly today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers (APR).
