WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 31, 2012) - The American Chemistry Council announced today that it will expand its work on behalf of the members of its North American Flame Retardant Alliance (NAFRA) . Beginning immediately, ACC will work on all state and federal advocacy-related issues for NAFRA members and will continue to communicate the science that addresses the effectiveness and safe use of flame retardants.

The following statement about these developments can be attributed to Jackson Morrill, director of ACC's North American Flame Retardant Alliance:

"We're pleased to have the opportunity to represent our member companies on the important issues surrounding the use of flame retardants. ACC's North American Flame Retardant Alliance will work with fire science and toxicology experts to evaluate the scientific record, communicate the science behind flame retardants to key stakeholders, and continue to advocate for sound public policies on the state and federal levels that will address the use of flame retardants as one important tool that helps minimize the risk of devastation from fires."
