The Ethylene Glycols Panel of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) is a leading source of product stewardship and regulatory information on the ethylene glycols. The Panel is chartered to promote the principle of Responsible Care® and focuses on the generation, collection, evaluation and dissemination of information pertinent to the safe handling and environmental and health effects arising from production, storage, transportation, use and disposal of ethylene glycols.
In support of this mission, the Panel continues to:
- Monitor, review and comment on legislative, regulatory, or other initiatives and on technical literature or information where environmental, health, and safety issues are involved or expertise is needed;
- Collect, analyze and share information on safe handling, transportation, and use;
- Prepare or sponsor scientific or position papers for publication or discussion;
- Support appropriate research and studies related to environmental, health, and safety issues;
The ethylene glycols addressed are: monoethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol and pentaethylene glycol.
