- Participating in rulemaking proceedings and submission of comments on proposed regulations impacting hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate or hydrogenated MDI (HMDI) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and their polyisocyanates.
- Initiating advocacy to address regulatory requirements that are unsupported by the available scientific data;
- Communicating with regulators and others to improve the accuracy and reliability of data characterizations so that future policy and regulatory actions are appropriate; and,
- Working with government health agencies to study aliphatic diisocyanates.

- ADIs are typically used in many types of coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomer (CASE) applications.
- Production of ADIs and their end-use products employ thousands of workers in facilities across the nation. For example, the U.S. paint and coatings industry employed 315,700 workers in 2019, adding some 4,000 jobs from the previous year.
- ADIs are also used in construction sealants. For exterior applications, they help provide durability, weather resistance and stability. They are also used in high performance polyurethane elastomers.
