ACC Announces the In-Person Return of GlobalChem
GlobalChem 2023 to Explore Changes Impacting Chemicals Management
WASHINGTON (February 28, 2023) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) is excited to announce the in-person return of its 36th Annual Global Chemical Regulations Conference and Exhibition (GlobalChem), after three years of a virtual conference program. Sponsored by Beveridge & Diamond PC, GlobalChem 2023 will take place from Monday, April 3 through Wednesday, April 5, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C.
GlobalChem is the industry's premier conference on chemicals management and regulatory policy. Coupled with the GlobalChem Exhibition and pre-conference workshops, this annual gathering of industry professionals offers a valuable opportunity to examine recent developments in domestic and global chemicals management policy and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) continued implementation of the 2016 amendments to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). With GlobalChem returning to an in-person format, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and reconnect with leaders and experts in chemical regulation.
GlobalChem brings together leading experts from across industry and government to discuss the opportunities and challenges in chemicals management. The chemical industry plays a pivotal role in innovating the everyday products we rely upon. GlobalChem provides the regulated community the opportunity to encourage the development of sensible policies to support U.S. innovation and our economy. I’m excited GlobalChem will return in-person this year. I look forward to welcoming our members, industry professionals, government officials and other stakeholders to the 36th annual GlobalChem Conference and Exhibition.
The 2023 agenda includes presentations and breakout sessions on risk management under TSCA; tiered data collection and tiered testing; risk communication; the New Chemicals Collaborative Research Program (NCCRP); environmental justice and air quality monitoring; challenges and opportunities in the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM); global data sharing and much more. The theme for this year’s GlobalChem Conference is “The Changing Landscape of Chemicals Management: Exploring Risks & Opportunities.”
There will be an optional workshop day on Monday, April 3 for attendees to explore the fundamentals of TSCA, including:
- Section 5 New Chemicals Program and PMN Submissions
- Regulatory Advocacy 101
- Preparing for a Risk Evaluation
- Responding to a Section 8 Data Call
- Section 4 Test Orders and Consortia Formation
