ACC Welcomes Chemical Safety Proposal

WASHINGTON (Feb. 13, 2026) – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a new rule that makes changes and improvements to the Risk Management Program (RMP).

The following statement regarding the decision can be attributed to the American Chemistry Council (ACC):

“ACC welcomes EPA’s draft rule aimed at restoring a data-driven, performance-focused approach to RMP. We commend Administrator Zeldin and EPA leadership for pursuing a framework that prioritizes proven approaches to risk reduction.

"ACC and its members remain committed to preventing incidents and enhancing safety through Responsible Care®, the chemical industry’s world-class environmental, health, safety, and security performance program. We look forward to providing comments regarding the new proposal to help ensure the final rule builds on decades of success that have helped reduce chemical-related incidents by 80%.”
