Phosgene Safe Practice Guidelines: 1.0 Introduction (April 2021) 

The information presented in the Phosgene Safe Practice Guidelines (Guidelines) is a general composite of best practices. Throughout the Guidelines, references to “phosgene” are in either liquid or vapor states as 100% phosgene. Mixtures of phosgene with solvents or other materials may exhibit similar toxic characteristics of phosgene but have unique properties and additional safety issues that may limit the applicability of these Guidelines. The information provided in the Guidelines should not be considered as a directive or as an industry standard that readers must adopt or follow. Instead, the information is intended to provide helpful ideas and guidance that users may wish to consider in a general sense.
