Eastman Joins ACC’s Plastics Division

The American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s Plastics Division today announced its newest member is Eastman.

Eastman, a leading advanced materials and specialty additives company, joins ACC Plastics Division members who are industry leaders dedicated to advancing solutions to create a more sustainable and circular plastics industry. Eastman has recently announced plans to build one of the world’s largest advanced plastic recycling facilities near the company’s headquarters in Kingsport, Tennessee.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Eastman as our newest member. America’s Plastic Makers share a commitment to pioneering innovative solutions that preserve the inherent value of used plastics while keeping them out of our environment,” said Joshua Baca, vice president of ACC’s Plastics Division. “Eastman is an industry leader in material technology and sustainable business practices— addressing those challenges head-on as evidenced by their announcement to build a commercial-scale advanced recycling facility.”

Steve Crawford, Chief Technology and Sustainability Officer of Eastman noted, “Joining ACC’s Plastics Division supports our dedication to pushing forward a circular economy through advocacy, collaboration and investment. We look forward to working together to drive circular policy solutions that support advanced recycling technologies which allow Eastman to care for society, improve our environment, and make materials circularity a reality.”

Eastman joined ACC’s Plastics Division effective March 1, 2021.
