WASHINGTON (Jan. 12, 2023) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) today announced that four-star general and supply chain expert, Gen. Gustave Perna, USA (Ret.), will headline the 2023 Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference & Expo. As a leader of the United States Coronavirus Task Force’s global deployment of COVID-19 vaccines, dubbed “Operation Warp Speed,” General Perna leveraged his nearly 40 years of military logistics experience to help deliver almost 400 million COVID vaccines throughout the global supply chain in less than 12 months.

In his keynote presentation, General Perna will share how he leveraged private-public partnerships to reduce roadblocks, create trust and enable transparent communications with manufacturers across the supply chain. General Perna will also discuss how companies can identify supply chain weaknesses and leverage technology and artificial intelligence to mitigate operational and security risks.

“We are thrilled to have General Perna as our 2023 Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference keynote speaker,” said Mitch Toomey, Vice President of Sustainability & Responsible Care at the American Chemistry Council. “General Perna’s expertise and practical experience in managing complex supply chain challenges, while considering global safety and security, will be an immense value add for conference attendees, many of whom engage in and oversee supply chain issues at their own organizations.”

The 2023 Conference will take place in-person April 16-19, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
