Director, Business Development
The position is responsible for managing the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) sales programs, including but not limited to, exhibits, sponsorships, Associate/Affiliate membership and affinity programs. The position is also responsible for identifying potential partnership opportunities, supporting engagement with sponsors throughout the organization, cultivating relationships with new and existing partners, contract management and developing long-term profitable relationships with corporate sponsors and other companies. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development and coordinates with the ACC Membership Department and other organizational stakeholders.
Manager, Product Advocacy Team
This position is responsible for staffing groups and implementing advocacy and product stewardship strategies that advance positive science-based positions for the polyurethanes and polycarbonate/BPA industries. This includes the day-to-day management of member groups charged with product stewardship, advocacy and outreach on environment, health, and safety issues. The position is also responsible for collaborating with related industry groups within each value chain, related internal stakeholders, as well as a wide variety of allied organizations and government representatives. This position reports to the Senior Director, Product Advocacy Team.
Manager, Packaging & Consumer Products Market
This position supports the day-to-day advocacy work with members, the internal state affairs team, and external stakeholders and partners. This position will help advocate for plastics sustainability at the state level through advancing policy priorities and engaging with value-chain stakeholders. Our in-house issue experts are supported by this position which also helps coordinate members, outside stakeholders, colleagues, and resources. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Packaging & Consumer Products Market.
Emergency Services Specialist, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the assigned shift within the CHEMTREC Operations Center. The position reports directly to the on-duty shift manager and the Operations Manager.
Coordinator, Advocacy Communications
The position is responsible for supporting the Advocacy Communications department, including conducting research, writing, PDF design, maintaining electronic and paper-based files, scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, proofreading and providing editorial assistance, and preparing documents. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Advocacy Communications.
Executive Assistant, Office of Chief Financial Officer
The position is responsible for supporting the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by conducting research, maintaining files, scheduling appointments, tracking budgets, providing MS Office document preparation support, responding to inquiries, booking travel, preparing expense reports as well as assisting the accounting team with cash collections and accounts payable tasks. The position reports directly to the CFO.
Vice President, Sustainability & Responsible Care®
The Vice President, Sustainability & Responsible Care is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) sustainability and Responsible Care® advocacy programs, including ensuring the proper integration of the sustainability and Responsible Care® programs with broader ACC advocacy priorities and initiatives.
The ACC and its members are committed to advancing safe, innovative, effective and economically viable chemical products and technologies that are key to unlocking sustainability solutions. ACC’s Sustainability Principles outline the priority areas where they believe they can have the most impact to advance sustainability. This executive will be the key interface for ACC with the global leadership teams of its member organizations in continuing to evolve Sustainability and Responsible Care® strategy and programs. The position reports directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer
Vice President, Communications
The American Chemistry Council (ACC) seeks a Vice President, Communications to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to support ACC’s policy priorities; industry reputation; crisis communications; executive communications and thought leadership; and member engagement. She/He serve as a key member of ACC’s senior leadership team to advance the organization’s mission and priorities.
The position requires a leader with significant staff management experience to oversee a professional team of 23 staff comprised of diverse communications roles including media and public relations; digital and social content development and marketing; and member communications. The position oversees the overall work activities of the Communications Department, inspiring, empowering, and developing team members while driving organizational alignment in messaging. The position reports directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer
Training Specialist, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for supporting the Training Manager across the CHEMTREC Training program lifecycle. The position is also responsible for working inbound order requests, fulfilling orders for off-the-shelf training, and working with the team to develop and implement new training modules. The position reports directly to the Training Manager.
Sales Manager, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for identifying sales opportunities on key accounts and working closely with the Customer Care team, the Business Developers, and the Regional Directors to capture opportunities. The position is also responsible for ooverseeing the staff responsible for onboarding clients as well as providing consultative recommendations and sales best practices to support CHEMTREC growth. The position reports directly to the Sales Director.
Digital Communications Manager
The position develops and oversees digital and social content and engagement initiatives and contributes to the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) overall communications strategies that align with the organization’s policy objectives. The position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical support in maintaining and enhancing ACC’s digital initiatives, as well as driving the development and execution of a clearly defined social media strategy in support of the organization’s advocacy goals and objectives. The position is also responsible for coordinating, editing and publishing fresh content for ACC’s network of websites and social media handles, as well as ensuring the content for AmericanChemistry.com and the MemberExchange extranet is cohesive. The Manager will have responsibilities in digital communications strategy, digital communications content, digital communications reporting, and departmental and organizational administration. She/he works closely with the Web Project Manager and reports directly to the Sr. Director, Marketing & Digital Communications.
