The position is responsible for assisting with the Plastics Division’s Durable Markets Advocacy Team by managing office procedures and workflow, including organizing team documents, processing contracts, check requests, and invoices; tracking team budgets and managing subscriber accounts for statistics; as well as meeting planning and assisting with policy and advocacy projects, such as social media and internet communications. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Durable Markets Advocacy.

Regulatory & Technical Affairs: Manager, Chemical Security

The position is responsible for managing the regulatory and advocacy efforts associated with chemical facility security and critical infrastructure initiatives for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC). The position has a particular focus on federal regulations and policies associated with physical security, cybersecurity, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The position will coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts and other stakeholders, to meet the goals, develop policy position and engage with key audiences on chemical security matters. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Regulatory and Technical Affairs.

The position serves as an advocate and technical resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) chemical management and regulatory advocacy efforts.  The position has a particular focus on risk evaluation and risk management. The position is also responsible for supporting ACC’s advocacy on a diverse range of technical and scientific issues at both the domestic and international levels, including support for relevant ACC committees and subgroups, on risk evaluation and risk management. Communications: Director, Issue Communications

The position is responsible for serving as an American Chemistry Council (ACC) communications lead and spokesperson to DC, national, and trade media outlets on assigned priority issues of the organization. This position requires proven expertise in creating and executing sophisticated, advocacy communication strategies in a fast-paced, policy-oriented environment. The position is responsible for developing and delivering advocacy messages on a variety of platforms to target key stakeholders at the local, state, and federal level, including NGOs, policymakers – both legislative and regulatory -- and the public for purposes of advancing select ACC policy priorities, as well as enhancing the understanding and appreciation of the chemical industry and the regulatory framework that governs the safety of its products. That includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with national and trade media and teaming with internal resources to develop public affairs and media plans and strategies. Regulatory & Technical Affairs: Senior Director, Energy, Climate & Environment

This position serves as the subject matter expert, advocate and technical resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) energy initiatives, climate policy, and environmental regulatory advocacy efforts.  The position has a particular focus on emerging energy and climate technologies, including: natural gas, energy efficiency, electricity, chemical feedstocks, renewable energy; hydrogen; carbon capture utilization and storage; and combined heat and power systems. The position is also responsible for supporting ACC’s advocacy on a diverse range of technical and scientific issues, addressing climate mitigation policies, energy supply trends and environmental compliance. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Regulatory and Technical Affairs.

Legal Services: Assistant General Counsel

The position is responsible for providing legal counsel and policy support on American Chemistry Council (ACC) advocacy issues related to chemical products, protecting ACCs legal interests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.  The position is also responsible for managing legal matters in assigned areas, including assisting in the selection of outside counsel as needed, managing outside counsel, and ensuring projects come in at or below budget.  The position coordinates legal issues with appropriate in-house ACC staff and reports directly to the General Counsel.

Federal Affairs: Director

The position is responsible for managing the American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s sustainability, chemical management, plastics and environmental advocacy efforts and sharing responsibilities for supporting ACC’s product panel groups and understanding their interests in active and proposed legislation. The position is also responsible for policy strategy, and scheduling and facilitating meetings with legislators on behalf of assigned product panel groups and responding to regulatory inquiries and requests to testify at public hearings. The position collaborates with appropriate in-house ACC colleagues and reports to the Vice President, Federal Affairs.

State Affairs: Manager, Northeastern Region

The position is responsible implementing the day-to-day activities of the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) political grassroots program developing advocacy materials for grassroots and lobbying efforts, interacting with contract lobbyists and consultants as well as representing the ACC before legislative and regulatory bodies. The position is also responsible for assisting and motivating member company facilities representatives to execute robust engagement in field-based political and grassroots activities with an emphasis on digital advocacy. The position is responsible for tracking and reporting state legislative and regulatory agency activities of various issues impacting member companies. Plastics: Manager, Plastics Sustainability

The position is responsible for supporting the advocacy, partnerships, measurement and programs that will enable the plastics industry to achieve their sustainability goals and more effectively track and measure success. The position will support several member teams and implement technical and environmental programs as well as track and measure success. The position will lead collaborative partnerships with key value chain organizations, including government.
