The position supports the advocacy, partnerships, programs, and information management that enables the Plastic Division’s Product Advocacy Team to achieve their scientific and technical goals. The position is responsible for supporting several member teams and managing technical programs and scientific groups as well as tracking and overseeing a proprietary scientific literature database project. Paralegal/Contracts Manager

The position is responsible for assisting CHEMTREC’s legal counsel with contract management, vendor management, as well as staff training and compliance with contract administration. The position will also be responsible for serving as the primary custodian of the CHEMTREC contract management system, including contract creation and facilitating the approval and signature process. The position will be further responsible for assisting the Finance department with vendor contract requirements, including processing customer codes of conduct requests and government contracting disclosures. The position reports directly to ACC’s Assistant General Counsel (e.g., CHEMTREC’s legal counsel).

Meetings Coordinator, Conferences and Program Development

The position is responsible for serving as the initial point of contact within the Meetings, Conferences and Program Development department. The position is also responsible for booking and supporting off-site meetings and events, as needed. The position is further responsible for assisting with planning events, managing all registration questions, answering all inquiries to the online services phone/inbox, providing general information on team projects, and completing updates on member company demographics and mailing lists. Coordinator, Plastics Sustainability

The position is responsible for assisting with the Plastics Division’s Sustainability Team and Global Advocacy focus by managing office procedures, processing contracts and invoices, and meeting planning, as well as assisting with policy and advocacy projects, social media, internet communications and other sustainability initiatives. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Sustainability.

Director, Executive Branch Engagement

The position is responsible for lobbying and advocacy on the American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s Federal Affairs team, with a particular focus on matters within the purview of the Executive Branch and federal agencies. As a member of the Federal lobbying team, the position represents the ACC and its members at the Executive Branch and, as appropriate, on Capitol Hill; develops lobbying and related advocacy strategy on assigned issues; schedules and facilitates meetings with senior Executive Branch and federal agency officials and staff; and responds to inquiries as well as requests to testify at public hearings. The position will advocate at the Executive Branch on behalf of the policy divisions at ACC and will support the subject matter experts within those divisions. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Federal Affairs.

Manager, Value Chain Outreach and Coalition

The position is responsible for enhancing the advocacy efforts of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) by engaging and mobilizing allies, downstream users, third parties and other key stakeholders in support of ACC priority issues and programs. The person would be responsible for increasing coordination with outside groups to expand ACCs influence both in Washington, D.C. and in the states. In addition, this position works directly with our member company facilities representatives to engage in political and grassroots activities. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Political Mobilization while working directly with the Director of Stakeholder Engagement & Political Mobilization.

Director, Plastics Sustainability

The position is responsible for implementing plastics sustainability and recycling programs that enable the plastics industry to achieve ambitious recycling goals and policy initiatives. The position is also responsible for managing the Plastics Sustainability Team’s advanced recycling and bio-based plastics workstreams including its environmental and technical projects and supporting policy and advocacy. The position will support the Division’s state, federal and international advocacy objectives via strategy development and collaboration with ACC advocacy staff as well as work with the Senior Director, Plastics Sustainability on new strategic programs and initiatives, such as developing expertise and policies for scaling bio-based plastics manufacturing. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Plastics Sustainability.

Vice President, State Affairs and Political Mobilization

The position is responsible for formulating and implementing a successful state affairs program which achieves specific legislative results that are favorable to the interests of ACC and its member companies. The position is also responsible for effectively representing the substantive policy issues associated with ACC’s advocacy efforts before state and local lawmakers as well as government officials. The position is further responsible for overseeing ACC’s political outreach activities within targeted congressional districts. The position interacts frequently with ACC member company representatives as well as senior business and government officials. The position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
