WASHINGTON (October 8, 2026) – Today, the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) published its 2025 End-Use Market Survey on the Polyurethanes Industry in the United States, Canada and Mexico, unveiling key market findings at the 2026 Polyurethanes Technical Conference in Orlando, Fla.

From 2023 through 2025, the North American polyurethanes industry remained stable, with a compound annual growth rate of 0.2%, reaching 9.18 billion pounds of polyurethanes produced across the region. Rigid foam production accounted for 40% of the market, followed by flexible slabstock and molded foams at 25% and binders and coatings at 20%. The United States accounted for 81% of production across the region.

“This data shows the resilience of the North American polyurethanes industry and the professionals across the value chain who have navigated the economic, market, and regulatory challenges,” said Jason Sloan, director of CPI. “At the same time, these findings underscore the continued importance of polyurethanes in products and applications that make modern life possible. The industry has maintained stability in a changing economic environment and continues to build on market opportunities.”

The comprehensive survey, produced by IAL, examines polyurethanes production and raw material consumption across North America. The more than 300-page report includes key market trends, economic drivers and insights into polyurethane applications, including construction and automotive.
