WASHINGTON (April 10, 2024) – The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) President and CEO, Chris Jahn issued the following statement in response to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing regarding the reappointment of Patrick Fuchs to the Surface Transportation Board (STB):

“We urge the Senate to support the confirmation of Commissioner Fuchs to the Surface Transportation Board for a well-deserved second term. Fuchs has demonstrated thoughtful leadership that has been instrumental in providing much-needed transparency concerning freight rail service problems and updating the Board’s policies.

“Confirming Fuchs will allow the STB to keep moving forward when it comes to resolving freight rail issues in a timely manner. We look forward to continuing to work with Commissioner Fuchs and his fellow board members on enacting reforms that will provide shippers with greater access to reliable and competitive freight rail service.”
