Sustainable Chemistry, Innovation, & Transparency Award

Wacker
Concrete Sustainability Through Siloxane Innovation

Wacker’s SILRES® admixture platform uses a special concrete additive to help concrete last much longer by keeping excess water out and preventing internal damage. Longer‑lasting concrete means fewer cracks, repairs, and replacements, which significantly lowers carbon emissions over a building, structure or road’s lifetime. By improving durability, the technology makes it easier to use lower‑carbon cement and recycled materials, which can help achieve GHG reductions in cement and concrete while preserving strength and resilience.

Environmental Protection Award

Lanxess
Advanced PFAS Selective Ion Exchange Platform for Sustainable Water Protection: Lewatit® TP 108 DW & MDS TP 108

LANXESS developed a water‑treatment solution that combines Lewatit® TP 108 DW and Lewatit® MDS TP 108 resins to protect drinking water and groundwater by selectively removing PFAS to very low residual levels. This combined approach helps water utilities and industrial facilities meet water standards more efficiently than traditional methods, while lasting longer, performing well in challenging water conditions, and reducing waste and environmental impact.

Syensqo
CYANEX® – Efficiently Recovering Critical Metals

Syensqo’s CYANEX® 936P enables the recovery of high‑quality lithium from used lithium‑ion batteries, helping turn battery waste into valuable materials. Designed to work with multiple battery types on a single processing line, the technology improves recycling efficiency and flexibility. By supporting lithium reuse, CYANEX® 936P helps reduce reliance on newly mined materials, decrease waste, and strengthen a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and energy storage.

Social Responsibility & Community Engagement Award

Dow
The Eztli Project: Empowering Menstrual Health Through Materials Science and Circularity

Project Eztli is Dow’s shared‑value initiative in Mexico that uses innovative materials and community partnerships to help address period poverty. By providing 80,000 reusable menstrual cups made with SILASTIC™ silicone, alongside education and health support, the project helps women and girls and reduces reliance on single‑use products. Eztli demonstrates how materials science can drive inclusive social impact and advance circular, sustainable solutions at the same time.

External Collaboration Award

True North Collective
Standardizing Carbon Black Product Carbon Footprints: Advancing Industry Alignment

TrueNorth Collective partnered with the International Carbon Black Association (ICBA) to deliver the industry’s first unified life cycle assessment and product carbon footprint framework for furnace carbon black. By aligning global producers on ISO‑compliant calculations, the collaboration set a new benchmark for credible, consistent carbon reporting and strengthened transparency across the entire carbon black value chain. ACC member Cabot Corporation, a member of the ICBA, nominated True North Collective for the award.
