WASHINGTON (June 21, 2022) — The American Chemistry Council (ACC) issued the following statement in response to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), which enters into force today:

“Forced labor should have no place at any stage of the global manufacturing value chain. ACC members have long-standing commitments to promote safe and secure supply chains and worker rights and safety around the globe.

“We will continue to engage with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other relevant authorities as they implement the Act.”
