WASHINGTON (Jan. 2, 2026) – U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 8.5 billion pounds during November 2025, an increase of 2.5 percent compared to the prior month, and a decrease of 5.0 percent compared to the same month in 2024, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 93.6 billion pounds, a 0.3 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2024.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 8.3 billion pounds during November 2025, a 7.4 percent decrease compared to the prior month, and a decrease of 1.7 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use were 94.3 billion pounds, a 2.2 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2024.
